Mercury is in Aquarius (Retrograde) in the 12th house

The thought processes and perception of information is innovative, progressive and communication can be quick, insightful and erratic. Mercury in retrograde in the natal chart means the mental processes would have been in internalized especially in earlier life, but has the potential of being highly evolved in later life. 

Being in the 12th house of transcendence there may be an interest in esoteric knowledge and the expression of mercury can be introverted.
